Small peach trees can cost between VND150,000 and VND200,000, while the larger ones can fetch up to VND1 million.
Some buyers quickly find the perfect peach branch in order to offer to their ancestors at home, while others keep seeking their favourite trees in which to decorate their houses with.
Peach trees are widely believed to represent both luck and prosperity moving into the new year.
Aside from Nhat Tan peach blossoms, several traders based at Quang An flower market also sell wild flowers ahead of the festive season.
According to sellers, wild pear flower trees are typically brought from mountainous provinces from throughout the north such as Lang Son, Lao Cai, and Ha Giang.
Many customers choose wild pear flowers in order to decorate their homes with, particularly as the peach blossom or Kumquat trees tends to fade away during the long Tet holiday.
Whilst the flowers only bloom for about a month, if given professional care the blooming time can last as long as two to three months. Indeed, the most beautiful wild pear flower branches must have some pear fruits, symbolising prosperity in the early days of the New Year.
A plum flower branch costs around VND100,000 to VND150,000.
The wild peach blossoms are part of ethnic minority groups’ life and are transported from the mountainous region. However, a wild peach branch is a bit expensive, costing more than VND2 million.
