The flower village in Sa Dec town is one of the large flower villages supplying the market with chrysanthemums, roses, ornamental flowers, and five-colour flowers.
The village that has grown flowers and ornamental plants for more than 100 years is considered the kingdom of flowers in the Mekong Delta.
Flowers of various kinds are blossoming at this time of year, attracting hordes of visitors and buyers.
Photographer Minh Ha, a Hanoi resident, visits the village, recording hundreds of flowers in full bloom as well as the lives of the people there.
Her pictures arouse curiosity among young people who wish to visit the village to see with their own eyes the beauty of the village.
Many tourists come there to enjoy the scenery, take photos, buy Tet flowers or experience the life of local villagers.
Recently, some farmers have mainly grown ornamental plants, turning them into gifts during the lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Sa Dec flower village has more than 2,000 varieties of ornamental flowers and plants, divided into three large groups including those for construction projects, interior decoration, and other flowers of all kinds.
However, all flowers and ornamental plants are for domestic use, therefore the value is not high.
The farmers seek new varieties to meet local climate conditions and market demand. Sa Dec has over 2,500 households specializing in growing flowers, an increase of 400 households compared to 2016.
This flower village attracts visitors by the closeness, friendliness, and smiles of the farmers.
The ecological tourism model has been deployed in the locality to ensure visitors have interesting experience and fun there.
