VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City appears to have taken on a fresh, vibrant look, with streets adorned with banners, flags and flowers welcoming the lunar New Year 2026 and the coming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In recent days, streets in downtown Ho Chi Minh City have been lined with flags, flowers, banners and slogans ahead of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Red panels, Party flags and national flags, along with Lunar New Year decorations, add bright colour to the cityscape.
At many intersections in the city centre, tourists and passers-by can see LED screens and panels reading "Warmly welcoming the 14th National Party Congress".
A large poster welcoming the 14th National Party Congress stands at the intersection of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia streets.
Images and symbols marking the Party Congress are also displayed on LED screens along Le Loi and Huynh Thuc Khang streets.
The displays underscore the significance of the 14th National Party Congress that will chart a new development course for Vietnam in the coming years.
Small alleys have also been decorated to mark the upcoming Party Congress.
Alley No. 120 on Tran Hung Dao Street is filled with national flags, panels and slogans to celebrate the country's biggest political event.
Meanwhile, with more than a month to go until the Lunar New Year of the Horse, many areas in the city centre have been decorated with festive displays.
Decorations at shopping malls have drawn visitors who stop to take photos.
Top destinations like Ben Thanh Market and Diamond Plaza shopping centre have become even more vibrant and cheerful these days.
People wearing Ao Dai (traditional long dress) take a photo with the Tet-themed decorations.
Many residents hope Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam as a whole will achieve further progress in 2026 and the years ahead.
